Experimental Space – Voyeurism

Exhibition: 20 April – 6 May, 2012 11am-6pm daily (gallery closed on Mondays)

This week I participated in an intermedia (interactive/interdisciplinary/experimental/instillation) workshop and am showing the results of my work in a group exhibition at Bunkier Sztuki, Galeria Dolna in Krakow (left entrance, in the basement).

From April 16 – 20, 2012 a workshop was organized by PhD students from the Intermedia Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Students of the arts from Poland (ASP Krakow, ASP Warsaw, UA Poznan) and internationally (EPAC Saxon, Switzerland) were invited to participate.

The aim of the workshop was to stimulate and encourage creative thinking using the public space in which we move and act. Students randomly were assigned a designated area surrounding the gallery in which to perform and document their ideas. The result of this workshop was an exhibition, entitled Przestrzeń (space).

Windows played a big role in the work submitted by painter Nina Grosser. Acting as both a barrier and an opening, they present an interior and exterior space and become a portal to a space which is simultaneously public and private. The self-portraits expose the vulnerability the artist felt living in a flat without curtains during the first couple of months in Krakow. For the interactive aspect of the project, figures were attached to windows and available for public inspection.
